It is also available in hard copy and other formats.VTDDC is a state-wide Board.  Sixty percent of its members are people with developmental disabilities or family members appointed by the Governor.  VTDDC uses its federal grant to create positive change for people with developmental disabilities.  It supports projects in policymaker and community education, leadership training, and advocacy aimed at enhancing individual and family-centered supports and services.   For example, it funds Green Mountain Self-Advocates to expand local chapters throughout Vermont.  It also funded the videos “The Apartment~Admit One to Adulthood’ and ‘Bill’s Bill, the History of Special Education in Vermont’, and the brochure “Choosing Words with Dignity”.  Even if you have never heard of VTDDC you might have heard of our small grant fund, that helps individuals and family members attend conferences and trainings.   familieslast_img
