(Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty Images)The meetings to determine Urban Meyer’s fate have been going on for nearly nine hours. We’re still waiting to see if a resolution will come today.Meyer has been at the Longaberger Alumni House virtually all day. He can’t sit in on the meetings but he has been around for the whole process.Meyer’s wife Shelley joined him earlier this afternoon. There are fans gathering outside awaiting any announcement. It’s pretty crazy. Now, Ohio State AD Gene Smith has arrived on the scene. He and his wife were photographed walking into the building moments ago.Mr. and Mrs. Gene Smith arrive at OSU. Drake. The Board of Trustees want Meyer to get off with time served and be reinstated immediately, while Drake prefers a suspension.Meyer, meanwhile, is reportedly refusing to serve any kind of suspension.CliffsNotes version (from what I’ve been told): Ohio State’s BoT wants to reinstate Urban Meyer immediately. University president Michael Drake is balking at that; wants Meyer to serve a suspension. Meyer refuses to serve suspension since he thinks he did nothing wrong. #Buckeyes— Dave Biddle (@davebiddle) August 22, 2018The longer things drag out, the more interesting they become.
